Consellería do Mar is the regional authority responsible for the management, regulation, and sustainable development of Galicia’s fisheries, aquaculture, and marine resources.
It promotes innovation, environmental responsibility, and the implementation of European maritime and fisheries policies, working closely with research centres, industry, and international partners to strengthen the blue economy.

Gonzalo A. López-Santos Rubal
Team leader
Gonzalo A. López-Santos Rubal is the Director of Research and Technical-Scientific Support at the Consellería do Mar. He has extensive experience in fisheries science, resource management, and international cooperation.
He coordinates technical and research activities supporting evidence-based policymaking and has represented Galicia in EU cooperation projects on sustainable fisheries and marine governance.
